Instagram Ads

Engage users, boost brand visibility & drive conversions.

Instagram is one of the world’s best-known apps, it was first released to the app store back in 2010 and reached over 25,000 downloads on the first day. Since then, its numbers have exploded, and the photo and video-sharing app now boasts 2.4 billion active users, with 500 million logging in and scrolling every day.

With international reach, huge volumes of regular users and an average of 33 minutes of use a day, Instagram is a top-tier option for social media advertising. Whether you’re working on brand awareness, promoting a product or sharing helpful content for existing customers, Instagram can transform the way your business is perceived and influence the success of your customer pipeline.

There are eight different types of Instagram ads, each of which work in slightly different ways to help you achieve a number of different goals. No matter which option you go for, you’ll always have the high-precision targeting that Instagram offers. Choosing the right one will depend on your business goals and how you want to present yourself to potential customers.

The first option, an obvious classic, are photo ads. Photo ads and carousel ads utilise static images. Photo ads are a single image that is accompanied by a caption and a call to action. Carousel ads are the next option. They operate similarly but can be used to either tell a story through up to ten images or showcase different products or features within a singular post.

Video ads are a dynamic and captivating option to easily convey a message, whether that’s with a product walk-throughs or an animation. They’re an incredibly versatile option, giving you plenty of options to grab potential customers' attention as well as foster engagement from existing customers.

Story ads will come up when an Instagram user is swiping between the stories of people they follow. These ads can be video or static images with links to your website, which can promote things like email sign-ups and discount codes or simply take them to a product page.

Collection ads are the perfect way to showcase your products, taking the concept of a carousel with the addition of enabling customers to explore your range of products or services. If they tap on the image, they’ll be taken to a new part of the Instagram app and be able to browse through and learn more about what you do.

Shopping ads are similar to Collection ads but with the added ability to create an Instagram storefront that people can shop through without leaving the app. They’re typically static images with options to tap to discover the products in the image, making it easy for customers to get straight to what they’re interested in purchasing.

Explore ads are promoted posts from your account that will come up on the Explore page of Instagram. While they don’t show up directly, when users are swiping through Explore images, your ads can pop up under organic content. It’s a great spot for putting brand awareness campaigns.

Reel ads operate similarly to Explore ads but come up after a user has been scrolling through Instagram Reels. These ads can be up to 60 seconds long and can be a captivating and engaging way to showcase your business or products or simply increase brand awareness.

Both Facebook and Instagram fall under the Meta banner. There are two key differences between them, the first is how ads are displayed. Instagram ads are more heavily oriented towards captivating imagery or short videos, while Facebook ads are typically more diverse in terms of their mediums, combining text into how they’re displayed.

Secondly, the targeting and demographics are slightly different across the two apps. Facebook has more options to choose from when it comes to narrowing down your target audience for your ads. Instagram is a little more general, making it a good option for newer businesses looking to increase their brand awareness.

The people using each app are from different demographics as well. Instagram attracts a younger audience, with its most frequent users being between the ages of 18 and 39. Facebook is used more frequently by an older demographic, being one of the most popular social media platforms amongst 40 to 59-year-olds.

You can share ads from Facebook Ads Manager to Instagram, however, having an Instagram advertising account allows for better control over your campaigns and a better understanding of what your followers and potential customers are interested in.

While you could teach yourself the basics of targeting, generating graphics and monitoring your campaign, an Instagram ads agency can help get you up and running quickly. When you work with WebSavvy, you’ll have years of experience on your side, with our team making sure that everything from the images and video content to the captions and targeting are exceptionally well optimised.

It’s not all about creating ads and having a high budget, reporting is incredibly important, too. Along with top-notch ads generated by your resident Instagram advertising agency, you’ll also be able to find out where your ad spend goes and how it’s performing. At WebSavvy, we’ll share updates on your ads and work on an ongoing basis to optimise your campaigns to ensure they’re performing at their best.

The value you want to put into your Instagram ads management will depend on what your advertising goals are, along with how much of an online presence you have. Instagram is slightly more expensive to advertise on than Facebook but also has a more engaged audience. The current costs of Instagram ads are up to around $0.25 AUD per click, $4.00 per 1000 impressions, and ad interactions like comments range from $0.03 to $0.08 per interaction.

At WebSavvy, we can work with you to come up with the best possible advertising solution, within your budget. Our experience extends across a number of different industries, and the advertising budgets we work with range anywhere from $5000 to $150,000 a month on average.

Each social media platform has its own specifications and best practices when it comes to advertising. Having an Instagram advertising agency can help you make sure you’re going in with the right approach for the unique demographic that Instagram has. Your potential reach on Instagram is also higher than on Facebook, with Instagram users being more engaged with both organic and paid content. We’ll be able to recommend image and video content that you might not have considered before, as well as report on how things are going.

Aside from gaining our expertise, you’ll also save time in the long run. Managing campaigns, making adjustments and monitoring budget and performance can be time-consuming. We’ll take all of that off your hands, delivering you the results while you focus on running your business.

Aside from being an Instagram ads agency, we can take care of your ads on all the other major platforms, too. From fellow Meta platform, Facebook, to Pinterest, TikTok and YouTube, we’re full service and able to help you across the board - no matter your goals. Whether you’re starting out with social media advertising, want to expand into Google ads as well or simply want an audit on how your current approach is performing, we can help. Get in touch with us today and we can start the process of finding the best social media advertising options for you and your business.
